Acupuncture

The World Health Organization (WHO) developed guidelines on the safety of acupuncture and its effectiveness and suggested that about 43 diseases could be treated with acupuncture.  

In 2004, WHO mentions that the efficacy of acupuncture has been demonstrated in numerous clinical trials as well as in laboratory experiments. Among the disorders that are recommended for their evolution and effectiveness to be treated with acupuncture are:

 

  • Primary dysmenorrhoea
  • Weightloss
  • Renal colic
  • Acute epigastralgia
  • Induction at childbirth
  • Cerebral vascular accident paralysis
  • Adverse reactions to radiation therapy / chemotherapy
  • Infertility due to male sexual dysfunction
  • Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus
  • Biliary colic
  • Stiff neck
  • Headache
  • Post-operative pain
  • Hypertension
  • Toothache
  • Shoulder
  • Periarthritis
  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Insomnia
